|Photos: Damages to the archaeological site of Ebla in Idlib|

The Department of Antiquities in Idlib had visited the archaeological sites, considering the damages and abuses committed there.
Photos taken recently in Ebla Showed the traces of Illegal excavations that had been digged in the previous period, and a number of holes of several sizes, some of those were down to the foundations of the walls.
Some heavy machineries used in the digging were found, as long as the traces of archaeological rocks and stones broken by heavy vehicles in the site.
The Department of Antiquities in Idlib informed the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums that the excavations and vandalism had stopped in Ebla during May and the hill did not witness any access of organized excavation groups, except some individuals who entered and excavated within the old trenches in which excavation missions worked previously. The excavations which aims to create camps or building warehouses had also stopped in the site and at the outer wall. on the other hand, there have been some abuses of creating a Station to refine crude oil, 400 m to the west of the hill. .
