|Training Courses in Capacity Building For Protecting Cultural Heritage Will Start In Cairo|

The preliminary meeting for the preparation of Regional Capacity Building Course on "Museum disaster preparedness and risk mitigation in the event of disaster or conflict" will take place in Cairo during the next week on 29 and 30 September 2014 and will financed by of ICCROM-ATHAR Centre in Sharjah and UNESCO Cairo office.
The meeting aims to understanding the emerging needs for protecting endangered cultural heritage in the MENA region and developing a training programme for protecting cultural heritage in the mentioned region. It will also consider roles and responsibilities for pre-course preparation and post-course follow up.
The meeting will be followed on 7-22 December 2014 by a training workshop in Cairo for 24 participant from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Lebanon and Sudan. This training will organized by the Egyptian Earth Construction Association (EECA) and The Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation (EHRF) with a cooperation of ICCROM-ATHAR Centre in Sharjah, UNESCO Cairo office, ICOM (International Council of Museums) and Ministry of Archaeology in Egypt.
