A Photo Exhibition on "Cultural Battlefield
" opened on 29 September 2014, at the German-Arab Friendship Association (DAFG) in Berlin, in cooperation with Cultural Cooperation Int.e.V, Friends of the Old City of Aleppo and in coordination with Directorate General of Antiquities & Museums (DGAM).
The Exhibition focus on the Damages in the Syrian Archaeological Sites especially Old Aleppo and Old Homs. The photographer Kathleen Göbel
had took a series of photos during her visit to Syria on May 2014, she was able to visit old Homs after a short period of time from taken control of the city by the government, and the Aleppo old city's photos were provided by DGAM.
The exhibition will end on 10th of December by a series of lectures which will be presented by Prof. Maamoun Abdulkarim
General-Director entitled "Syrian Cultural Heritage during the Crises
", and both Dr. Anette Gangler
from Friends of the Old City of Aleppo Association and Eng. Christoph Wessling
from Technical University in Cottbus will also present a lecture entitled "Aleppo Archive in Exile
