In the framework of the cooperation with UNESCO "The Emergency Safeguarding to the Syrian Cultural Heritage
", project. The training course in "First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Syria
" started on Monday 24 November 2014 in Beirut.
The training organized by UNESCO office in Beirut and Conservation in the Arab Region ICCROM (ATHAR) with funding from Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-ًWH) and the European Union. The multi-disciplinary and international teaching team include ICCROM, Egyptian Heritage Rescue Team and International professionals who have been working in emergencies for protecting cultural heritage.
First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Syria aims to equip participants with necessary skills and knowledge to provide timely response in emergencies. 20 participants form DGAM experts join the training from the most damaged sites (Aleppo old city, Homs old city, Daraa & Bosra, Maaloula and Crac des chevaliers and participants from the Preparedness section in DGAM beside Damascus University Faculty of Archaeology.
