The Follow-up course on "First Aid to Cultural Built Heritage in Syria
" started today at Beirut for 10 days, the course organized by ICCROM-ATHAR, ARC
in the framework of the "Emergency Safeguarding of the Syrian Cultural Heritage
" project funded by the European Union.
The aim of this follow-up course is to establish national teams not only capable of undertaking emergency response interventions, but also of training other teams.
The course will cover a wide range of topics concerning the damage fast documentation, structural analyzing for historical buildings , damage management and assessment and the importance of involving local community in protecting cultural heritage.
21 participants form DGAM specialized in built heritage (museums and archaeological sites) were attended at the course.
