DGAM organized a memorial service for our late colleague Mr. Qassem Yihya, in the Damascene Hall at the National Museum of Damascus, on Monday the 21st of September 2015, in the occasion of the 40-day anniversary of his killing upon the mortar shells fallen on Damascus on the 12th of August 2015
The ceremony was attended by his big and small families, the DG of Antiquities and Museums, and heads of DGAM departments.
Qassem was a highly professional member operating under often stressful circumstances in the emergency evacuating and documenting the museums artifacts during the recent crisis.
The late Mr. Yihya was born in Damascus in 1978, graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Sciences with master's degree from Italy. He was married and had three children. He worked at DGAM for many years, then later became a deputy director for the Laboratories Department.
