The 2nd volume of the Encyclopedia of Archaeology in Syria has been recently published in Arabic, starting with the "Ishmaelite School" in Aleppo and ending with "Ionia" in Central Anatolia.
This encyclopedia sheds light on antiquities, ethnic groups, ancient arts and literature, myths, religions, remarkable figures, and handcrafts in Syria, from the prehistoric periods to the Islamic era.
This 480-page volume includes maps, photos and illustrative drawings prepared by local and international professional academics and specialists in the history and archaeology of Syria for the Arab Encyclopedia Association, in order to draw attention to the importance of the Syrian cultural heritage as a part of the human heritage.
