Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums Honored French engineer Yves Ublemann. at the National Museum in Damascus during his recent visit in July 2016, in recognition of his efforts in supporting DGAM since 2013 up to the present, through the use of modern technologies in the work of documenting archaeological sites, and the training of DGAM employees.
Director General, Dr Maamoun AbdulKarim granted Mr. Ublemann, the shield of protecting the Syrian archaeological heritage in the Damascene hall at the National Museum in the presence of the national team and DGAM employees, and It should be noted that Mr. Ublemann is director and founder of the engineering office “ICONEM” which interests of documenting heritage using modern techniques , He is working in Syria since 2006 and continued his work during the current crisis, he was among the first who offered his services during the liberation of Palmyra from ISIS gangs, and was able to accompany the DGAM team to document all the damages of the Museum and the Monuments of Palmyra.
