Some media channels and websites circulated news about the damage inflicted on the synagogue of Eliyahu Hanabi in the Jobar neighborhood of Damascus along with all its contents down to conflicts taking place in the area for a while. The synagogue is considered one of the oldest Jewish synagogues in the world, located at Madrasa street in the center of Jobar and holding thousands of religious and cultural treasures.

It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of the crisis countless irreplaceable cultural sites have not survived damage, partial or complete, such as the Umayyad Mosque in the Ancient City of Aleppo and the churches and monasteries of Maaloula city in Damascus Rural, in addition to some buildings characterized by their unique architecture, which has always been a main part of Homs' character and memory, like the Umm al-Zinar Church and Khalid Ibn Walid Mosque. .
